The feds are now messing with Texas! Read this.
"This is not about the enviroment, but about power. It's about whether we will remain a constitutional republic in which the states retain the powers not given to the feds by the Constitution, or whether the feds can arbitrarily control our lives and ursurp our freedoms based on flawed science and political ideology."

And this:
"The history of public debt is the very history of national power: how it has been won, and how it has been lost. Dreams and impatience have always driven men in power to draw on the resources of others-be it slavess, the inhabitants of occupied lands, or their own children yet to be born-in order to carry out their schemes, to consolidate power, to grow their own fortunes. But never, outside periods of total war, has the debt of the world's most powerful states grown so immense. Never has it so heavily threatened their political systems and standards of living. Public debt cannot keep growing without unleashing terrible catastrophes.
Anyone saying this today is accused of pessimism. The first signs of economic recovery, harbingers of supposedly of falling debt, are held up to contradict him. But we wouldn't be the first to think ourselves uniquely able to escape the fate of other states felled by their debt, such as the Republic of Venice, Renaissance Genoa, or the Empire of Spain."
This is taken from Newsweek.
The ruling class of politicans, of both parties in Washington, D.C., have made our country very ill economically. They come up with schemes such as global warming in order to bring about regulation and taxes - the old "spreading the wealth around" scheme. Or make up a crisis in order to take over a car company so they can pay off the unions. We are partly to blame for this, not keeping an eye on our politicians, thinking every entity exists to make our lives easier by expecting them to pay for things for us, i.e. insurance companies, social security, medicare/medicaid, welfare. Things are going to drastically change for all of us, and maybe very quickly. It seems to me most times these changes happen based on a mere opinion, that starts a cascade of consequences. But then, if we are strong in the core of our beings, if our values are built on Rock and not Sand, we can weather these changes, and help others in the process. May we make sure we build our lives on the Rock of God, His Son Jesus, the Redeeming sacrifice that Jesus made for us, the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the Truth that is God's Word - the Bible.
